Windows
Firewall
Coming from an enterprise that
have proven to be the world’s leaders in operating system production, surpassing any other entity, it was high time
Microsoft introduced a firewall that would save its programs from unwarranted interference when running online. Be
it the Internet explorer or its mail handler Outlook, there was need to enforce security from within and from
outside attack.
They developed the Windows firewall that comes with basic protection for the avid internet user. It normally
comes free with every Windows installation and has a comprehensive assistance button that gives you all the
information you need to use or configure it, a thing that misses in some free versions.

Windows firewall’s
uncanny ability to work behind the scenes is commendable, as it
does not strain the processes running on your system and has minimal notifications of intrusions. Its activity log
that records all attempts is easy to access, and is great when combined with a stable antivirus program of your choice.
Much of the adware and spyware is
also halted by the Windows Firewall for Vista, and leaves little to the imagination as to how and when it gets
updated. It works well by denying identity theft, does not offer computer identification when online and has
very little chance of getting dodged by most infiltrations.
Though Microsoft has been urged by
its users to improve more on its capabilities and customization options, it is known to give first-line or basic
protection to many computers around the world, especially those that use the Windows platform and so far it has
received a nod by experts worldwide.
Since the Windows firewall is more
of a preventative feature, you are advised to keep it on, as it is easy to turn off, and difficult to clear
infiltrations that come into the system when you do.
